This project has now completed.
We recently completed phase two of a £1 million investment to upgrade the water supply network in Leeds, Kent, to ensure that supply and pressure can be maintained as the community grows.
While phase one took place mostly in private land last year, phase two required the full closure of Upper Street (B2163) while we installed 535 metres of new water main.
The work was expected to take around six months due to our understanding of other utility infrastructure beneath the surface of the road. However, once on site, we were able to find a suitably clear path to allow us to install the new water main using the faster technique of directional drilling. This allowed us to complete the project three months ahead of schedule.
Prior to the scheme, and during the works, several meetings were held with the local community to provide project updates, understand residents' concerns and work towards a solution that balanced sometimes-opposing needs.
Now that the project has been successfully completed, we want to ask the community to talk to us again, and give us your feedback on how you felt the project went. Your answers to the survey below will help with our communications and future project planning. Thank you for your time.
