Broad Oak Reservoir

Plans to build a reservoir at Broad Oak have been around since the 1970s.

We are now closer than ever before to potentially building the reservoir and are keen to involve the local community in its planning.

While the site’s primary objective is to be a drinking water source, it also has the potential to offer the community a wide variety of environmental and social benefits.

We therefore want to make sure we support your ambitions for the site too.

But to do this successfully, we need your help.

We are keen to reinvigorate the Broad Oak Reservoir community panel and are asking for you to sign up if you would like to be a member.

You could be a resident, local community representative, business or someone with interest/expertise in the environment. Absolutely anyone.

We’re keen to involve as many people in this panel as possible.

The panel will work with us over the coming years to help develop the reservoir plans further and have influence over what happens at the site.

We’re also keen to gather initial views of what you would like to see at the site and where. It could be an activity, facilities, amenities or anything else.

Water Resource Management Plan consultation

The reservoir proposal features within the our latest draft Water Resources Management Plan which is currently out for public consultation.

The plan proposes the reservoir will be built by either 2033 or 2036.

We're keen to hear your views on the reservoir and urge you get involved in the consultation.
